About the program

The Master of Arts in International Law and Diplomacy at Assumption University is committed to a broad, interdisciplinary approach to the study of international relations in order to produce qualified professionals in foreign affairs for both public and private sectors. In relation to the AU mission, the program specifically aims to produce graduates with open and independent minds, as well as far visions, capable of critical analysis and communicating their perspectives in global settings, and further, to produce graduates who are capable to cope with rapid changes in global politics, economics, societies, and cultures.

Objectives: To produce graduates who have the following characteristics, knowledge and skills:
    1. Keen in foreign affairs and capable of social interactions for both public and private sectors.
    2. Have open and independent minds as well as far vision capable of critical analysis and communicating their perspectives in global setting.
    3. Capable to cope with rapid changes in global society, politics, economics, law, and culture.
    4. Able to discover their skills and abilities in order to produce and apply knowledge of the highest scholarly caliber.
    5. Motivation towards rendering academic services to the society in order to generate public understanding about elements and meanings of international relations.
 

Professions/Careers after Graduation

    1. Working for diplomatic and consular services.
    2. Working in the international relations departments/offices of various governmental institutions.
    3. Working in embassies based in Bangkok on technical jobs, e.g. secretariat, translators, interpreters, press officers, economic advisors, etc.
    4. Becoming international civil servants in the UN or other international organizations.
    5. Immigration officers in different countries.
    6. Officers in nongovernmental or volunteer organizations.
    7. Employees in multinational corporations.
    8. Lecturers or researchers for academia and/or research institutions.
